Helsinki-based SENASE is the formation of Colombian-born siblings, Natalia, Sebastián, and Sergio Castrillón, who undertake a fascinating sound journey with harp, cello, modified-cello, and vocals. SENASE’s sound palette blends elements of music and nature sounds from South American and Nordic territories, creating unique sonic atmospheres through diverse playing techniques and electronic means. Inspired by elements of global soundscapes, classical, and experimental music, SENASE performs original co-created compositions.
Since its formation in 2024, SENASE has toured around Finland, Germany, Belgium and Colombia.

The SENASE live studio sessions album is an invitation to listen to a blend of musical elements and natural sounds from South America and Nordic territories, creating unique sonic atmospheres through traditional and extended playing techniques in lever harp, cello and modified-cello. This production brings in a spectrum of colours, emotions, and moods, each carrying the messages that SENASE wish to convey through their music, but also leaving space for a more personal listening experience.

“We have shared many lives and many stages, from childhood to the present day, always surrounded by soundtracks and soundscapes that have shaped our musical vision and our bond as siblings. From bambucos and pasillos to rock, classical, and electronic music; from the whispers of winds and birds in the mountains and plains of our home and base lands, to the chaos of massive cities and wars around us — all this merges with our emotions and challenges, always marked by the stories of our ancestors and our own journeys, painted between the peaks of the Colombian Andes and the shores of the Baltic Sea in Finland. After years of making music together while living apart, we finally reunited in Helsinki with a shared purpose: to nurture the seeds we had planted throughout our lives. Our music emerges from our stories and emotions by embracing the raw authenticity of the present moment, musically, as well as siblings and close friends. Our creative process is deeply collaborative, with each member playing a vital role in shaping the sound and soul of SENASE“.
